Unclaimed insurance policy or bank account

French Law no. 2014-617 of June 13, 2014, also known as the “Eckert” Law on dormant bank accounts and unclaimed life insurance policies, was enacted with the aim of improving the protection of beneficiaries of life insurance policies. The purpose of this law is to reinforce obligations concerning the search for policyholders and beneficiaries of life insurance policies, thereby guaranteeing the payment of benefits due to them and which have not been settled.
