Descending genealogy

This type of research is adapted to Armenian genealogy to find cousins in the Armenian diaspora abroad or not. This type of research allows the tracking down of cousins in a family tree.

Ascending genealogy

This means determining all direct ancestors in agnatic line (paternal line), cognitive line (maternal line) or even by neighborhood. This type of genealogy is the most commonly practiced in France, with the aim of finding the oldest ancestors, as far in time as possible.

More suited to Armenian genealogy, the method consists of tracing the most distant ancestors that can be found, and then tracing their descendants.

Change of name

French legislation provides for the succession of a family name which becomes extinct: it authorizes a change of family name by a family name up to the 4th degree in the applicant's ascendants or collaterals. The chosen surname must be extinct. To justify the request for such a file, genealogical research is necessary to demonstrate that there are no more bearers of the surname that one wishes to use. The genealogical study carries out the necessary research and provides you with the elements needed to establish your file.
